Why Beeswax Candles are
Perfect For All Occasions
Have you ever
arranged that perfect evening ... you know, the right mood,
music, food and, of course, that candle lit dinner
... only to have the room fill with candle smoke and a candle
scent that overpowered what was the tasteful aroma of that
elegant dinner prepared?
Well fret no more.
Compared to traditional paraffin candles, candles made from pure
beeswax:
-
Burn completely smokeless
-
Give off only a very
subtle honey scent
-
Are Slow
Burning
-
Are Dripless
due to their higher melting point
And since pure beeswax has
none of the petroleum chemicals like paraffin, they won't make a mess of your candleholders.
So don't ruin
another perfect occasion with the smoke and smell of petroleum
based paraffin candles ... make that occasion truly memorable
with 100% beeswax candles only from Knorr Beeswax.

Candle Making With Beeswax
Here's a couple
cool facts - Beeswax is secreted from the underside of a
worker bee's abdomen. It comes from the same source as honey -
the nectar of flowers. Beeswax has a natural and light sweet
smell and is smokeless and dripless. Now to make your own
Beeswax candles ...
|
1.
You'll want to choose the correct size of wick based on
the size size of candle. For
square braided wick, the size you'll want for
Honeycomb tapers is “#1/0 square braided” wick. The
size for 2 inch diameter honeycomb candles is #3
wick and for 3” honeycomb candles you'll want to use a
number #4 square braided wick..
|
| |
|
2. The
length of wick needed is the length of the finished candle
plus 1/2 inch. Leave 1/4 inch of wick at each end of the
candle.
|
|
| |
|
3. Heat
the wax sheet to 80 degrees F to prevent it from cracking
when rolled.
|
|
| |
|
4.
Lay the wick on the wax.
|
|
| |
|
5. Crimp
the edge of the wax over the wick.
|
|
| |
|
6. Make
sure you roll the sheet of wax tightly and evenly.
|
|
| |
|
7. Smooth
the end of the wax sheet over the ends of the candle.
|
|
| |
|
8.
Now you'll need to find a pie pan and heat it in the oven.
|
|
| |
|
9. Clip
the bottom wick even with the candle.
|
|
| |
|
10. Run
the bottom of the beeswax candle over the hot pan. This
will leave the bottom of the candle smooth.
